On August 24th, the Latvian Championship in the 10 km road race will take place in Piltene, along with the Ventspils municipality open championship in the 10 km and 5 km road races and the 5 km Nordic walking distance. Children will also run, starting at 2:00 PM. There will be two starts for adults – the 5 km race at 3:45 PM, and the 10 km race and 5 km Nordic walkers will start at 3:55 PM. This will be the ninth Piltene run, and it is expected that around 500–600 participants will take to the start line, including the best athletes from Latvia competing for the Latvian Championship medals.

Highlights

  • The course will wind through the center of Piltene, with one lap measuring five kilometers and a vertical drop of five meters, which means that the course is very fast and can achieve very good results.
  • The main supporter of the event is the Ventspils municipality, along with several businesses and individuals, ensuring that participants receive prizes.
  • After the run, all competition participants will be treated to sausages and cabbage, and at the end of the event, participants will have the opportunity to take part in a lottery to win valuable prizes.
